What happens if my company fails to comply with statutory requirements?
A company and every officer commits an offence under the Companies Act, and a heavy penalty will be imposed by the Registrar (SSM).
Why is it important to appoint a company secretary?
Under the Companies Act 2016, private and public companies, as well as foreign-owned LLPs, must appoint a Company Secretary to ensure compliance with legal obligations and act as a liaison between the company, regulators, directors, and stakeholders. The Company Secretary’s duties include maintaining statutory records, ensuring regulatory compliance, facilitating communication on corporate matters, and managing risks related to governance and compliance.

How often should company records be updated?
